Heard God speak and provide today in Haiti

Verse for the day…
Colossians 3:12
Therefore as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 

 

We started the day listening to a 4AM worship service being held beneath where we are staying.  What a beautiful sound  hearing our Savior’s name being lifted up even before the sunrise!
Nothing could have prepared us for the things that happened today!  

 

We started with devos and an orientation. Larry had Col. 3:12 laid on his heart and shared it with the group. We made this verse our “verse for the day.”

 

Then we headed off to the Son of God orphanage for a tour. We walked through the gate and were greeted by beautiful children! 126 of them to be exact. Everyone of them wanting to be held, hugged, or “high fived.”

 

It was overwhelming to our hearts as we heard the couple in charge share all that God has done for them. As we walked through we could not believe how these children lived. 2 meals a day, not enough beds, only partially clothed. 
Yet in all they are joyful children who live Jesus!!  We were in awe!!

 

We headed back “home” and figured out our afternoon – VBS for the orphans, a prayer walk in a tent city, and a soccer outreach at a local church. 
After lunch we broke into groups to do our different ministeries. God was there in each and every place. And Col 3:12 truly came to life for us. 
– We heard God speak
– we saw Gis provide water, mattresses, and love to the orphans. 

 

It was a wonderful day!  We praise God for each and every minute of it and can’t wait to see what tomorrow holds.
