Haiti Update: Meeting the Needs of the Haitian Refugees

We rolled into Jimani, the second biggest focus point besides Port Au Prince, yesterday afternoon with expectations of finding hundreds upon hundreds on the streets. We were prepared for what we saw on tv and youtube to be in our face, enter ¨expectations change¨. There are people in the streets, maybe 70 to 120, all of them trying to get a ride to the Dominican capital where they believe more hope lies than in Haiti. Most of the hospital patients are in post opt care. Last night Miguel and I walked through the hospital, there is need for love there. Lots of people with casts and one...

Arrival of Teams in Haiti

Earlier today, we received an update from one of our Haiti teams, delivering medical supplies. They are on the border town of Jimani and are considering visiting a town that has grown from 3000 to 20,000 people due to the large influx of Haitian refugees from Port-au-Prince.   We also just received word from the other team, which just arrived in the Dominican Republic. Haiti Prayer Requests: Team Two Lands Tomorrow

Back Home from Haiti

From Miguel Santiago, our contact in the Dominican Republic:   Thank you everyone for your prayer over Ronnie and my trip to Haiti. We are safe and the trip was very fruitful, although indescribably intense. The LORD saved lives, fed more than a thousand meals, led us to some key contacts to pour in Kingdom workers through, and kept us safe despite the war zone conditions.   Despite the heavy hearts we carry, weight just seems to fall off being home with my beautiful wife and child(ren), what a blessing to have loving, supporting family to return to. I’m going to spend several...

Haiti: Heart Breaking Report from Miguel

I talked to our country director, Miguel Santiago. He just returned from Port-au-Prince with this report:   Miguel passed by a school that was full of students at the time of the earthquake that completely collapsed, killing most of the students. He said the stench was unbearable. They had turned the large cement slab in front of the school into a triage center for the living right next to that place of death because there was no more space to put them.   A pickup truck with four crushed but living people showed up. There was no room for them there. The man driving it said, “Where...
