We just received the following word from the Shauls, our missionaries in the area of the crisis:   Hey there. I just wanted to let everyone know that Miguel and Ronnie have arrived safely back to the Domincan Republic. They had an intense day in Haiti, making it all the way to Port Au Prince. Haiti Earthquake Update

Just talked to Miguel again. He and Ronnie will be crossing into Haiti around 8am tomorrow and will head for the town of Croix des Boquets which is East of Port Au Prince.    More and more people continue to arrive in Jimani (a Dominican border town about 40 or so miles from the capital of Haiti) where he is now. Buses of people are arriving, and the hospital is overflowing.   Many of the injuries are devastating and surgeries are being put on hold because of equipment problems. Our country director on the scene, Miguel Shaul, went overland from the Dominican Republic to Jimani, on the Haitian border to deliver medicines to a hospital. He is headed for the town of Croix des Boquets east of Port-Au-Prince.   Buses of people are arriving, and the hospital is overflowing. Many of the injuries are devastating and surgeries are being put on hold because of equipment problems. Plans for Haiti Relief Taking Shape – From Our Executive Director   On a recent call from the Haitian border, I heard the tragic story of a mother with three children. Her three year-old had her crushed leg amputated at the hip. But even as she clings to life, her mother has to take her on the hard ride back to Port-au-Prince to search for her two siblings who are still lost and possibly dead in the rubble.
