People Keep Asking If We’re Making a Difference in Haiti: A Video

Josh Lawson and several others from Journey Community Church of La Mesa, CA have been partnering with Church of God Mission by Faith in Carrefour (just outside of Port-au-Prince), Haiti.  Nearly a year and half since the earthquake first struck, there’s still much to be done. Haiti may have faded out of the news cycle awhile ago, but not from Journey Church’s heart and mind (and certainly, God hasn’t forgotten at all). Josh has been to Carrefour three times and on Friday will be heading back to Haiti to lead a trip through our Church-to-Church ministry.  He’ll...

1 God + 2 Churches + 3 Years = A Clinic

Relevant magazine recently featured one of our church-to-church partnerships: Pastor Edouard Clerhomme of the Church of God Mission by Faith church (Carrefour, Haiti) and Pastor Ed Noble of the Journey Community Church (La Mesa, CA, USA): Since this [initial] meeting [in May], Journey and Mission by Faith have formalized their new partnership. Journey sent a five-person team to visit in early July to continue assessing needs and ways they can support Mission by Faith church and to continue deepening relationships between the new partner churches. As Journey covers their activities...

Making a joyful noise in Haiti

If I could bring one tangible piece if Haiti with me, it would be their music.   Bongo drums, homemade percussion instruments, voices full of praise for the Lord and joy in Him, penetrated with occasional claps – music you have to move to, you have to join in with!! We have had the privilege, and I may be the only one on the team who considers it a privilege, of hearing this beautiful praise nearly every evening until past 10, and waking up to it at 4 a.m. almost every day.  This… I will truly miss Sunday night. 🙁   This music is one of the simplest and sweetest...

For the Long Haul: AIM’s Church-to-Church Featured on Relevant Magazine

Relevant Magazine recently highlighted one of the church-to-church partnerships we were blessed to facilitate.  Here’s an excerpt of the article, “In Haiti for the Long Haul” by Kami Rice: Pastor Edouard Clerhomme and Pastor Ed Noble likely never would have met if an earthquake hadn’t filled Haiti’s streets with rubble. But now the relationship between them and the churches they lead is growing into something that has life beyond the tragedy. Clerhomme pastors the Church of God Mission by Faith church in Carrefour, Haiti, a very poor community southwest...

Video: Building a House for Pastor Cornet

When an AIM Church-to-Church team came to work with Pastor Cornet, they were led by the Lord to use their financial resources to help build the pastor a house. At the time of the earthquake, Pastor Cornet and his wife were caring for 13 children – 6 their own, 7 not. All of them survived the quake and have been living in tents since then. Now they can look forward to a new house!

Haiti Understands Pain

AIM’s summer Haiti trips are wrapping up and Seth Barnes Jr. is in the process of debriefing staff and doing last minute ministry.  While Haiti has recovered in many ways, they still feel the pain of January 12th.  They recently met a man named Ramseys who lost most everyone he loved in the earthquake.  And despite his pain, he’s learned to continue trusting the Lord in his journey. A man named Ramseys recently took a group of us to his home that was destroyed in the quake. We walked into the enclosed area with the mountain of rubble that was his home...
